About the university
The National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Food and Environment, whose usual name is Agrosup Dijon, is one of the 210 French engineering schools authorized to award an engineering degree. Ceated in 2009, specialized in agronomy and agri-food, the institute is located in Dijon. The Institute is a public institution of a scientific, cultural and professional type, of a large establishment type, attached to the University of Burgundy. This establishment is the result of the merger of the National Institute for Agricultural Higher Education in Dijon (ENESAD) and the National School of Applied Biology in Nutrition and Food (ENSBANA), a former internal school of the University of Burgundy. It also houses EDUTER (Institute for Education and Professionalization). AgroSup Dijon is a member of PRES Burgundy Franche-Comté and theConference of the grandes écoles.The history of the Dijon schools has its source in the law of August 2, 1960, which initiates a new development of agricultural education, notably in terms of the training of personnel and the development of research in this field. The first of these establishments is a National School of Agricultural Engineers, inaugurated on October 29, 1965 by the Minister of Agriculture Edgard Pisani, whose mission is to train engineers and whose headquarters are in Quetigny.
