About the university
The school was founded in 1893 as the Ecole de Ceramique de Sèvres . She was then housed in the national factory of Sèvres . The teaching initially refers to art ceramics, to gradually deploy to technical and industrial ceramics. It became the National Superior Ceramic School (ENSC in 1927 - decree of December 6, 1927 published in the Official Journal ), entitled to issue the title of engineer . In 1955, it took the name: National School of Industrial Ceramics 1 and moved to Limoges in 1979, when it became a public administrative institution . In 2009, the school obtained ISO 9001 certification and, in 2010, settled in the Ester Technopôle site in the north of Limoge, next to the European Ceramics Center. In 2001, the school was attached to the University of Limoges.
