About the university
ISEP (pronounced [i.zɛp]) is a private digital engineering school located both in the 6th arrondissement of Paris and in Issy les Moulineaux. It trains engineers in the fields of: electronics, computers, telecommunications and networks and multimedia. Attached to the Catholic Institute of Paris, she is a member of the Conférence des grandes écoles and is a member of the French Federation of Engineering and Management Schools (FESIC). It is one of the 210 French engineering schools authorized to award an engineering degree. The diploma awarded by ISEP was recognized by the Commission des titres d'ingénieur at the end of 1959. By 2014 ISEP has 5,647 active graduates3The original idea of the foundation of the ISEP is To Norbert Ségard, professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the Catholic Institute of Lille, who spoke with the Abbot Jacques Valentin, professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the Catholic Institute of Paris. The latter convinces Bishop Blanchet, rector of the ICP (Institut catholique de Paris), to create a school entirely dedicated to electronics, a bold challenge for the time since the transistor had only been invented a few years earlier (in 1947 ) Abbé Jean VieillardNote 1, then prefect of the Terminales class at the Institution Notre-Dame of Sainte-Croix, and connoisseur through his studies in the professional context (he is a former student of the École polytechnique and his father, Georges Vieillard CEO of Bull) is chosen to carry out the project and becomes its director. He then remains for thirty years. From the outset, it was decided to maintain close relations with the companies, to give the future engineers a theoretical scientific and technical training but also to leave a large part to the experimentation with the concern to train engineers quickly operational . From the beginning, human formation has also occupied a significant place.
