About the university
The University of Perpignan was created in 1350 by the Aragonese king Peter the Ceremonious, who wanted to make the city a dynamic and attractive city. Later, in the eighteenth century, the Marshal de Mailly became the first patron of the Perpignan University, to whom he donated the botanical garden and the site on which will be erected the "old university", as we call it today, Hui. This visionary benefactor has thus laid the foundation stone of an institution that has adapted to the needs and expectations of a society in perpetual evolution. With its history, the University of Perpignan has set up a tool in 2008 to strengthen and strengthen the link between the universe it represents and the city: the UPVD Foundation
