About the university
The Academy of Orléans Tours is an administrative district of the French Ministry of National Education created in 1962 and covering the territory of all the six departments of the Center-Val de Loire region . It consists of 6 academic inspections divided into 46 constituencies. The rectorat , located in Orléans in the department of Loiret , is directed by Katia Béguin since October 2016. A first academy was founded at Orleans in 1808 ; It only includes the departments of Indre-et-Loire , Loir-et-Cher and Loiret . The Cher and the Indre are included in the Academy of Bourges . The current Academy is established through Decree No. 61-1354 of the 12 December 1961 Entered into force on 2 January 1962 .
