About the university
The school of architecture of Clermont-Ferrand was founded in 1970 in the form of an autonomous pedagogical unit. Her current director is Agnès Barbier. From 1980 to 2015, it occupied the former building of the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chemie in Clermont-Ferrand , near the city center, in the university district. The oldest part of the school was built in 1908 . The school was recognizable from its glass tower dating back to 1970 . The Hall of the school, where various events, exhibitions, workshops and evenings were held, is in fact the old roof of the station of Brioude. At the beginning of September 2015, the school settled north of Clermont-Ferrand , in the former hospital-sanatorium Sabourin . The latter was rehabilitated according to the plans of the architects Dominique Lyon and Pierre Du Besset.
