About the university
Created in 1955, IAE Bordeaux is one of the first IAEs in France. In 2016, your university management school celebrated its 60th birthday! A series of anniversary events marked the highlights of IAE Bordeaux and its many challenges for the future. In1955, when there was no university management course in France, Gaston BERGER , Director of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, created what were then known as "Institutes of Business Administration" based on the American model of Business Schools . In the same year, the Institute of Business Administration of Bordeaux (today IAE Bordeaux) is created within the IRGAE by Professor Jean-Guy MERIGOT . Very quickly, the new institute will join the premises of the former faculty of law located place Pey-Berland in Bordeaux, which it will occupy until June 2005.
