he Grenoble Institute of Political Studies , said " Sciences Po Grenoble ," is an institution French audience of higher education established in 1948 , located in 1030 Central Avenue on the campus of Saint Martin D'Heres , near Grenoble . He is attached by decree to the Pierre-Mendès-France university, which became a Grenoble-Alpes university in 2016 and belongs to the National Foundation of Political Sciences . A member of the Alliance des grandes écoles Rhône-Alpes 2 , the institute is also associated with the Grenoble-Alpes University community . It is one of the two institutes of political studies called "equilibrium" with that of Bordeaux, and one of the ten of France and is therefore part of the Grandes Ecoles. The establishment was created, in part, by Jean-Marcel Jeanneney 3 , by decree4 May 19484 under the name of "Institute of Political Studies of the University of Grenoble". The property is located at 1 rue Général Marchand in Grenoble. The year 1955 saw the arrival of a library fund for the IEP, coming from the Faculty of Law. The institution relocated at the beginning of the 1966 academic year on the university estate of Grenoble to Saint-Martin-d'Hères and took its current name under the decree of 18 January 19695 . It is a public institution of an administrative nature , the status of which is fixed by the Decree of 18 December 1989. Since October 2015, the Board of Directors has been chaired by Laurent Olléon, Councilor of State.
