About the university
The University Center Dauphine was created in 1968 as a faculty 2 in premises built between 1955 and 1957 to house the Secretariat General of NATO who sat there until 1966, during which France left the integrated command 'organization. This institution became the Paris IX Dauphine University in 1970 3 . It is a " public institution of a scientific and cultural nature " instituted by the Faure law of 1968. It consecrates the breakup of the University of Paris into thirteen autonomous universities. Paris-IX Dauphine and Paris-VIII Vincennes are conceived as experimental universities. They must put into force the principles of the Loi Faure, and in particular the pedagogical renovation and the pluridisciplinary nature. Dauphine was to imitate the Harvard Business School.
