About the university
After May 68 , the law on higher education "Faure" reorganized the universities. The University of Paris is divided and Sorbonne Nouvelle University is1 st January 1970. In 2010, the universities Paris-III "Sorbonne Nouvelle", Paris-V "Paris-Descartes" and Paris-VII "Paris-Diderot" are gathered within the Sorbonne University Paris Cité. They decide in 2017 on the principle of a merger planned for the1 st January 20197 . This project of the presidency of Paris III is strongly contested by the students and the staff of the university, who manifested through several consultations their massive rejection of this perspective.
