About the university
The National School of Industrial Creation - Les Ateliers ( ENSCI-Les Ateliers ) was created in 1982 under the patronage of Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand . It was ranked the best design school in the world by Red Dot Design in 2011, and was considered the best design school in France according to the Student's ranking in 2012. ENSCI-Les Ateliers is the first national higher education school exclusively devoted to industrial design and design. Since its founding, its facilities occupy a building designed in 1911 by Édouard Niermans , originally to house the workshops of the Jansen home near the Bastille , 11 th arrondissement of Paris.
