About the university
The Practical Institute of Journalism of the Paris-Dauphine University (IPJ) is a school of journalism located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris; It was created in 1978 by the historian Pierre Miquel as well as by Jean Augonnet, its director from 1978 to 2002. The Institute is located in the historical district of the French press, in the former dispatch rooms of the weekly Illustration. It is chaired by the journalist Denis Jeambar and directed by Pascal Guénée. Since May 27, 1991, it is one of the 13 schools recognized in France by the profession, via the mechanism provided by the National Collective Labor Convention of journalists. The institution was recognized by the State on 28 January 1993. The Diploma of Journalism has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research since 2004. In September 2011, the IPJ is incorporated by decree, Université Paris Dauphine 4 and became the Practical Institute of Journalism at the Paris-Dauphine University and awarded his students a double diploma: a master's degree in journalism from the Paris-Dauphine University, as well as a diploma specific to the IPJ (Practical Institute of Journalism).
