About the university
The university was created in 1991 as part of the University 2000 plan . She as 1 st director Daniel Laurent, who was deputy director of the office of the Minister of universities from 1976 to 1978 and was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Universities of Paris between 1978 and 1981 7 . It was at that time called "Marne-la-Vallée University" and its logo represents two birds flying in the sky. It already adopts the orange color that characterizes it until today.
