About the university
VetAgro Sup was founded on January 1st 2010 after the merger between the National Veterinary School of Lyon, the National School for Agricultural Engineering of Clermont-Ferrand and the National School of Veterinary Services. Institute of higher education in food science, animal health, agricultural and environmental sciences, VetAgro Sup is located in two different Regions of France: Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes. The Institute’s main priorities are to train veterinary physicians and engineers, to produce knowledge and to provide support to economic actors in the fields of food sciences, animal health, agricultural and environmental sciences. VetAgro Sup offers broad-based and multidisciplinary training in veterinary medicine and agronomy (animal health, public health, protection and animal safety, environmental protection, nutrition and food science, etc…). Within the public higher education institutes in the fields of sciences, culture and professional education (EPCSCP), VetAgro Sup is one of the first French “Grand Etablissement” for the training of agricultural engineers and veterinary physicians. This model is in compliance with international standards, which strengthen the international exposure of the Institute.
