About the university
Spiritan University College began as the Institute of Philosophy to give the first stage of the priestly and missionary formation unambiguously to the candidates of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. It was opened on December 17, 1990, and the first stone in the foundation was laid by the very Prep Pierre Haas, CSSP is blessed by the Most Reverend Peter Kwasi Sarpong. In 1997, the original two-year program was expanded to cover three years leading to the awarding of a Diploma in Philosophy and Religious Studies. In 2002, the owners decided to raise the academic standard to allow graduates to meet the intellectual challenges of society of the day. In addition to this, the owners saw the need to bring the benefits of Catholic and Spiritan education to the youth of Ghana and Africa, opening the doors of the College to the general public.
