Inaugurated in 1837, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), has been the first university of Greece and the Balkan and Eastern Mediterranean region. With 42 Departments belonging to 9 schools, the NKUA offers 41 undergraduate programs and 213 postgraduate programs covering most fields of Science and Arts (Law, Science, Philosophy, Health Sciences, Economics & Political Sciences, Education, Theology, Physical Education & Sport Science, Agricultural Development & Nutrition). 29 of these master programs are taught in a foreign language.
