About the university
The leaders of the MEBSH had a great vision for young people in the Southern Region, to provide them with a university space for youth training, medical training, engineering and administration so that they can Integrating the labor market locally. Established in 1993 by the Evangelical Baptist Mission of Southern Haiti ( MEBSH ), the main objective of the Université Lumière is to work on the social and spiritual intellectual development of the Haitian community of Les Cayes. Logistical difficulties (lack of available teachers) led the founders to transfer the University's headquarters to Port-au-Prince. The Mission acquired a building in the city of Port-au-Prince as the definitive headquarters of the University
