St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering is owned, administered and run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kuzhithurai, under the able leadership of the Most. Rev. Dr. Jeromedhas Varuvel, the present Chairman of the college, from the bifurcation of the Diocese of Kuzhithurai from the Diocese of Kottar in December, 2014. SXCCE was started in 1998 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kottar, before its bifurcation, under the nurturing leadership of (the Late) Bishop, Most. Rev. Dr. Leon A. Tharmaraj, who coordinated the initiatives and efforts of the laity and the clergy of the diocese. St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering vibrates the vision of ‘Creating a Technically Empowered Humane Society’ by offering cutting edge technical and managerial education to the rural youth of Tamil Nadu and beyond.
