However the fact cannot be denied that the Bharat College has made a progress by widening its activities beyond the 4 – walls of the college. The fact remains as 'ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY', so we retrieve through the past days of the College formation and progress step by step. The Founder Principal Shri. T.V. Saroopa had a dream of starting a Degree College in a remote area, where local students can be benefited to take higher education without waste of time in travelling. He had first started Panna English High School and then this College Bharat which is named in the honour of his elder son Mr. Bharat Saroopa a dynamic personality and very co-operative by nature. Bharat College of Arts and Commerce is situated in the eco-friendly environment of Kulgaon, Badlapur. It is one of the prime institutions of Bharat Group of Schools and Colleges and managed by Bharat Friends Association, which is a registered Public Trust. The college is housed in a huge complex and is the first Degree College of this Mumbai Suburb. At the same time, it is the first Accredited College in Badlapur with "B" Grade by NAAC. The college was established in the year 1991 and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college is always ahead in achieving the all round development of the personality of the students through various curricular, co-curricular and extra curricular activities.
