About the university
Siliguri Institute of Technology, a Degree Engineering College, started functioning since 1999 with the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and initially the Institute was affiliated to the University of North Bengal. From 2001 onwards, the Institute has been affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). This college offers Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering (previously Electrical and Electronics Engineering), Electronics and Communication Engineering, Software Engineering, Civil Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, and Information Technology. It also offers MCA, BBA (H), MBA, BCA and Tourism & Hotel Management amongst other courses.
