About the university
The University Institute of Engineering and Technology is the brainchild of its founder Prof. S.S. Katiyar, the former Vice Chancellor of CSJM University, Kanpur. It is set amidst the university campus that has an area of about 265 acres. It was founded in 1996 with four branches of B.Tech program and with an initial strength of 240 students. It was started with an objective to have an autonomous engineering college of first-rate standard for the students of Kanpur and its nearby places. Today, it has around 2200 students on its rolls in all the six disciplines of Engineering and other career-oriented programs like MCA, BCA, M.Sc.(Electronics), M.Sc.(Bioinformatics) and Advanced PG Diploma in Bioinformatics, M.Phil. The faculty and staff of the institute are dedicated towards advancing knowledge and educating students in Engineering & Technology and as well as in Sciences.
