We at Kamala Nehru College celebrate the spirit of womanhood in terms of making them conscious of their true strength and abilities through an education system that amalgamates academic excellence as well as self-discovery by involvement in various extra-curricular activities. In the legacy of our national movement that envisaged strong, responsible and dignified women like Smt. Kamala Nehru, the college continues to carry forward her spirit not only in name but in true sense by striving to impart value education and empowerment to young women so that they can create a niche for themselves in all areas of life. Kamala Nehru College was founded in 1964 with a purpose that women deserve, desire, require and have a right to the same level and quality of education as men. Working towards this very purpose the College continues to inculcate in its students the ability to think independently and choose a way of life that enables them to live confidently and courageously. At KNC, we educate and nurture the young women with the knowledge of what a woman is, what a woman can be or do. There is radical change in the place of women in the present day society and with this change we believe in forging ahead, free from discrimination and prejudice. The College envisions its students to become rightful participants in democratic process of the country while creating new horizons for other not-so-fortunate men and women in our society. We choose to emphasize on thinking and knowing, and we believe in cultivating in our students a sense of curiosity and a passion for questioning.
