A. S. College Deoghar

A. S. College , Deoghar started its journey in the field of education way back in 1969, under the able leadership of Dr. H. Narayan the founder principal of this premises institution under S.K.M. University, Dumka. Prior to 1992, this college was constituent unit of T.M Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur and after the creation of S.K.M University Dumka, the college comes under Dumka as a constituent unit. A.S. College, Deoghar gives maximum importance to quality and accepting quality as its hallmark the college has contributed significantly in the field of enhancing education and learning, specially to the tribal and underprivileged/weaker section of society. We believe in imparting quality and man making education. The vision of Thakur Anukul Chandra comes into reality when his able son Sri Sri Borda took the initiative to establish a College named A.S. College; Deoghar.The College actually started to function in its initial stage as an evening college with a small number of students. The blessing of Thakur Anukul Chandra and Lord Shiva and the far sight of Sri Sri Borda, the college soon made his presence fell in the society. The number of students increase and the teaching in the faculty of Arts and Commerce started with new hope. The vision which inspired our founder Principal Dr. H. Narayan and dedicated teachers of our college has been sustained in the mission that grooms young energetic students into responsible, moral and proactive citizen of the country. Motivated and supportive by the then management faculty and all the stake holders of the institution the receptive teachers achieved their desired goal. The College is aware of the importance of the curriculum and the faculty members try their best to implement curriculum, prepared by the University. The faculty members give their proposal to the academic council of the University to make the curriculum more updated. Apart from class room teaching, there are 3 units of NSS in the college, which monitors to develop morality and ethical values among the students. The college also conducts NSS campus in the college campus to motivate the students with the teaching of Mahatma Gandhi & Baba Saheb B.R Ambedkar. The unit of NSS which was withdrawn long ago has been allotted again. A.S. College, Deoghar gets regular feedback from Parents, employees to keep the quality of teaching high.
