About the university
The College was granted affiliation by the Calcutta University & The State Govt. in September 1985. The then Higher Education Minister Late Prof. Sambhu Ghosh graced the inauguration ceremony as guest-in-cheif. Before starting off fund raising programmes, a nine-member committee was set up with the then District Magistrate of Howrah Sri Sumantra Chowdhury as the President of the same. Some local bodies and many education lovers came in with monetary help. Under the leadership of noted engineer late Raghudas Baul, a group of dedicated engineers came forward to lay down the plan and supervise the reformation of the old building and estab-lishing new classroom. With their cumulative efforts the old building was renovated and extended as per the need. Two new class rooms were also set up.
