About the university
In 1964, institution was started with 45 students of Drawing Teachers Certificate course (DTC) of one year. After short time, college was running Drawing & Painting, Sculpture and Commercial Art courses. In 1972-73, the government closed all the external courses and gave recognition of a full flaged fine arts collage as Kalakendra College of Fine Arts in 1973-74. Today, after 40 years, eminent industrialist and famous donaer of Nadiad (Dharmaj) Shri Indubhai Patel Ipcowala donated to Charutar Vidya Mandal, Vallabh Vidyanagar.
