With the blessings of Sant Attar Singh ji Maharaj- A Saint and great visionary, who had strong belief, dedication and determination to channelize the young generation towards education along with spirituality. Sant Attar Singh Trust headed by member of Parliament and former union minister for Youth Affairs & SportsĀ S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and the Akal College Council with its president Capt. Dr. B.S. Punia and Secretary S. Jaswant Singh Khaira started Akal College of Physical Education in the year 2006, with a vision to produce committed and quality Physical Education teachers. Akal College of Physical Education under the able and dynamic leadership of its Principal Dr. Geeta Thakurand a team of dedicated staff, organically grown to a productive human resource institution of northern India. Akal College of Physical Education within a period of eight years has brought laurels in the field of Academics, Sports and extracurricular activities. The basic aim of ACPE is to produce quality teachers through quality education and training. The ACPE has always strived to make excellence a tradition the area of Physical Education through effective coaching, Sports sciences, Medical Support, Sports Nutrition and Sports Psychology etc. The ACPE conducts specialized programmes i.e. from under-graduate level to post-graduate level and also organizes various scientific conferences, seminars, invited lecturers and scientifically oriented training camps etc. with an objective to develop and promote scientific research in the field of sports, Physical education and sports science, which in turn provides platform to educated think-tanks and the learning communities to sit together for global educational reforms.
