About the university
Anand College of Education for Women at Jethuwal in Amritsar district of Punjab is a relatively young teacher education institution with an enormous potential for growth as an entity in the field of pedagogy. It is a unique institution as it caters to the needs of both urban and rural girl students who hail primarily from Punjab. The institution was founded as recently as on September 5, 2005 by Anand Model Educational and Charitable Society which has been registered under the societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and has its administrative office at 12. Opposite Thana Sadar, Near Railway Loco Shed, Amritsar. Anand College of Education is a self financed educational institution and it is run by its management without any aid from the government. The chairman Dr. M.M. Anand had started his career as a teacher, and all through he has been conscious of the role of the college in producing committed teachers. He feels strongly that this aim of the college can be attained only by upholding the age-old traditions of the Indian Society and practicing the ideals of our distinguished ancestors..
