About the university
Banipur Mahila Mahavidyalaya, located in Banipur, was established in 1999 with the aim to provide higher education to women. The College made a humble beginning with four substantive teachers and about a hundred students. Classes were held in the morning at a Girl’s High School in Habra as the college building was not yet constructed. The new complex came up in 2003 at Banipur amidst the vast lush greenery far away from the maddening crowd. The Banipur educational complex hosts a number of schools and colleges such as a Post Graduate Training College for Physical Education and a Teacher's Training College, both having a long and prestigious history. Situated amidst such esteemed institutions, the College wishes to impart quality education to its pupils., Today, the College has expanded dimensionally as the first storey has been constructed in 2015 and an Annex building is under construction.
