Established in 1989, UCD Applied Language Centre (ALC) is engaged in offering a wide range of high quality language provision across many of UCD's activities. The ALC has a university-wide remit to provide teaching, self-study, testing and advisory services across UCD and to the wider national and international community. UCD ALC is one of Ireland's main test centres for IELTS (International English Language Testing System) examinations and is also a centre for Cambridge English exams. The ALC also offers a wide range of courses in the following areas: English for Academic Purposes Foreign Language Modules External English Programmes Graduate TESOL programmes.
