Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna

In October of 1711, Pope Clemente XI appointed the seal to the statutes of the Academy, which was founded in Bologna two years ago, in his honor assumed the name of Clementina. Structured on the model of the Royal Academy of Paris and the Roman Academy of Saint Luke, the Institution was also inspired by the previous artistic associations in Bologna, from the Accademia degli Incamminati, to the Ottenebrate Academy, to the free associations that have recently been gathered around Some patrons of the city.
