About the university
The Academy of Fine Arts "Giambettino Cignaroli", based in Verona, was established in 1764 with the transformation into a public institution of the ancient Academy of Drawing. The Academy of Verona, one of the oldest academies of fine arts in the world, is one of the five historic Italian Academies. Giambettino Cignaroli was the first director since his establishment until 1770, and he succeeded Giovanni Battista Rusca until 1774, Francesco Lorenzi until 1780, Pietro Antonio Perotti until 1786, Angelo Da Campo, Saverio Dalla Rosa, until he arrived More recent times with Napoleon Nani, White Moses, Alfredo Savini from 1900 to 1924.
