The Latin Music Conservatory of Music begins as a detached home of the Conservatory of Music "S. Cecilia »of Rome in the AU. 1979/80 (Dec. 15, 1979). From 1 October 1988 (Dec. 30, 1988) it was established as an autonomous seat and in 1991 it was named "Ottorino Respighi". The original seat was the former National Opera Balilla, today the "Duilio Cambellotti" Museum, while the two existing buildings on Ezio Street were part of the former fascist military district, later restructured to meet the needs of a Musical institution. Today, together with the neighboring University of Engineering and Economics, they represent the university campus of the city. Following Law 508 the Conservatory becomes Institution in the System of Higher Artistic and Music Education. It is governed by a President, who is the legal representative, and who chairs the Board of Directors and the Director, elected by the teaching body, who chairs the Academic Council, which has a programmatic address. Thanks to a Convention signed with the City of Gaeta in June 2013, the "Ottorino Respighi" Conservatoire currently has a seat in the beautiful southern Pontine seaport.
