The Institute for Conservation and Restoration (ISCR), established by DM on 7 October 2008, is the technical body of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism and deals with the General Secretariat; Is specialized in the field of restoration and preservation of works of art and cultural heritage. The ISCR, pursuant to Article 8 of Legislative Decree no. 368 and subsequent modifications, it has scientific, financial, organizational and accounting autonomy. At the ISCR, the Higher Education School, called SAF, referred to in Article 9 of the Legislative Decree of 20 October 1998, no. 368 and subsequent amendments. SAF is competing for the training activities of future restorers as set out in Legislative Decree 42 of January 22, 2004 "Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape".
