About the university
Founded in 2000, the University of Valle d'Aosta is an educational and research center with an open eye in Europe and the constant attention to the area where it stands. The university development project, started in 1997, originates from the need to make modern education accessible at all to high levels and the desire to create a structure for the production and dissemination of knowledge, a comparison and a growing body of social, cultural and economic life and, consequently, the development of a regional global System. Sixteen years after its foundation, university curriculum is grown on the basis of degree courses in two divisions and about 1,200 students. The educational project, which is characterized from the beginning of the University of Valle d'Aosta, is based on the centrality of the student: the small size of the university compared to other universities allows direct communication with professors and easy access to services, as well as facilitating a dialogue with other students. The international opening, according to numerous agreements with the European institutions, is deployed in a wide variety of student exchanges, scientific partnerships and international research projects.
