About the university
Fukuoka Dental College, located in the western part of Japan, celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2012. With its 40 years' firm basis, FDC keeps evolving in order to lead the future of Dentistry as the only one Private Dental College in the west of Japan. Its history shows how dedicated we are to fostering individuals for upcoming era, which requires dentists to have knowledge of both medicine and dentistry. FDC aims to foster competent dentists with virtues and international perspectives, contribute towards social welfare and advance Dental Medicine. In order to achieve our goals, we offer 6-year curriculum that includes ethics, specialized subjects and clinical trainings. We also offer various club activities, international exchanges and support systems for the students to help them achieve their goals. Clinical trainings include not only Dentistry but also Medicine such as Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pain Clinic, Otorhinolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Psychosomatic Medicine, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics and Orthopedics. Today, in our super aging society, dentists are required to have knowledge of Medicine in order to meet the needs of the society. For better cooperation between dentists and medical doctors, we are fostering dentists with such knowledge.
