About the university
Gifu College of Nursing was founded in 2000 with a view to the contribution to enhancing the quality of nursing service to ensure the general welfare in Gifu Prefecture. The college established the master’s course in 2004 and the doctoral course in 2006, as well as its transition to an independent administrative agency in 2010, has continuously assumed the designation of a higher educational institute of nursing in Gifu Prefecture and has also provided the learning environment that enhances the competence of problem solving in nursing practice. The nature of nursing science lies in establishing the theoretical methodology and scientific basis for the work of a public health nurse, a midwife, and a nurse; leading a research activity to ensure the healthy life of each person, and raising the quality of nursing science. As recent needs of people involved in caring has been diverse, the nursing profession has not only to master accurate technique and knowledge, but to understand the various aspects of human care and ethical judgment.
