About the university
okyo Metropolitan College of Industrial Technology (TMCIT) nurtures "Monozukuri (manufacturing) specialists." The college equips these specialists with both the skills required to support industry; and the skills necessary to practically tackle various problems confronting modern societies. TMCIT commenced afresh in 2006, with the amalgamation of two metropolitan Kosen that were originally established around 50 years ago. In modern industrialized societies, technological advances are a daily occurrence. Furthermore, the march of economic globalization continues unabated. In a world dominated by fast-moving change, there exists great demand for engineers who can both respond to technological developments; and who can act on a world stage. At TMCIT, we are reforming our educational systems so as to nurture such human resources, and in 2014 the college's curriculum was revised. Furthermore, so as to respond to industrial internationalization, in addition to strengthening our related education disciplines, we are enhancing both exchanges with overseas students and the hands-on overseas learning opportunities offered to our own students.
