About the university
Tokyo College of Music is a private music college with the oldest history in Japan, with its predecessor Toyo Music School established by Yonejiro Suzuki in 1907. Based on the philosophy of "contributing to society through music," our university has cultivated well-educated musicians and music educators through academic exploration of Western music and the acquisition of advanced musical skills. This founding spirit is reflected in the current school rules and education as the basic educational philosophy of "coexistence of academism and practical learning," "social contribution through music," and "internationality." Every year, we produce a large number of winners and winners of famous competitions and auditions, sending excellent human resources not only to the music and education worlds but also to excellent companies in Japan and overseas. Nakameguro-Daikanyama campus opened in April 2019. The evolution of Tokyo College of Music will not stop in the future.
