Karaganda State Technical University (KarGTU) (formerly Karaganda Mining Institute, Karaganda Polytechnic Institute (KarPI)) is a state higher educational institution in Karaganda, one of the leading in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the training of highly qualified technical personnel. Training is conducted on a wide range of technical and humanitarian specialties. It was founded on July 9, 1953.
