About the university
1980 - General technical faculty of KazPTI 1988 - Educational and Scientific Center of KazPTI 1990 - Atyrau branch of KazPTI 1996 - Institute of Oil and Gas of Atyrau University 1998 - Atyrau Institute of Oil and Gas 2016 - Atyrau University of Oil and Gas In 1999, for the first time in Kazakhstan, in order to improve the level of training of specialists and concentration of scientific and technical potential for solving urgent problems of the oil and gas industry, the university and the scientific research institute Atyrau Institute of Oil and Gas and the Institute of Petroleum Chemistry and Natural Salts merged and Atyrau Oil Institute And gas (Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 869 of June 28, 1999). From the day the institute was founded until July 21, 2011, the university was headed by Tuleush Pauedenovich, doctor of chemical sciences, professor, academician of the International Engineering Academy and National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
