About the university
In 1976 it was opened as a general technical faculty of the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute named after V. I. Lenin (KazPTI named after VI Lenin) in the city of Shevchenko (now - Aktau city). 1990 is transformed into the general technical faculty of the Mangistau branch of KazPTI named after VI Lenin. In 1993, the Aktau Polytechnic Institute was opened on the basis of the Mangistau branch of KazPTI named after VI Lenin. 1995 was remembered for the institute by the name of Shahmardan Yesenov. In 1996, the Aktau State University named after Sh. Esenov and the Aktau branch of the Atyrau University was established in Aktau State University named after Shahmardan Yesenov. In 2008, the Aktau State University named after Sh. Esenov was renamed into the Caspian State University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Esenov.
