Thank you for your interest in our International Student Program. Since 1976, our seminary has been providing advanced theological education for international church leaders. As part of our mission strategy, we seek to train promising leaders with outstanding academic accomplishments, so they can return and lead educators in their respective countries. We invite you to explore the possibility of continuing your theological education at the Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary (PUTS), the main educational training institution for the Presbyterian Church of Korea. We hope you find a degree program that best meets your needs. Admission Eligibility M.A. Program (Christian Education) Applicants are recommended to have a B.A. in Theology or Th.B. from an accredited university as a prerequisite. Those with an undergraduate background in a different field are strongly encouraged to pursue basic theological studies before applying. If not, supplement course requirements in addition to the curriculum must be fulfilled within the length of two-year program in order to graduate. M.A. program is offered in Christian Education (4 Semesters). Please note the program must be completed within two years. Th.M. Program (Missiology) Applicants must have at least four years of undergraduate training plus three years of formal theological training (M.Div. or equivalent) as a prerequisite. Th.M. program is offered in Missiology only. The length of program is two years. Ph.D. Program (Christian Education and Missiology) Ph.D. program is offered in Christian Education (only for those who have a B.A., M.Div., and M.A. in Christian Education) and in Missiology (B.A., M.Div., and Th.M.). The applicant must have a Master’s degree in the same field as the doctorate program he/she is applying for. Educators in key positions are primarily selected. All Ph.D. students are granted probationary admission and are subject to academic review by the committee after the completion of 30 credits of coursework. If academic performance is not satisfactory, the committee may rescind admission and grant approval only for the Th.M. program instead.
