About the university
University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) is the culmination of the State of Sarawak’s vision and commitment in establishing a world-class institution of higher learning to spearhead the development and production of technical human resource for the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE). UTS is committed to facilitating students’ access to an affordable world-class university education that nurtures creative and entrepreneurial leaders through a broad education in science and technology while combining the career benefits of an applied approach for SCORE-related research and career opportunities. Situated in Sibu, one of the main gateways into SCORE, UTS’ campus is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art facilities to facilitate teaching, learning and research activities necessary in the production of graduates required by the industries within SCORE. Student visa
Sarawak State has different immigration policies that must be complied with on top of the Malaysian immigration policies. UCTS will apply for Student Pass after receiving complete documents. Once approved UCTS will courier the Visa Approval Letter (VAL) to the applicant. Applicant use the VAL to do Single Entry Visa at the Malaysian Embassy. The applicant can arrange to travel to Malaysia once received the Single Entry Visa. Applicant will obtain the multiple entry Student Pass after arrival.
Accommodation
The University offers off-campus and on-campus accommodation. Off-campus hostels are located just opposite with complimentary shuttle service to campus on weekdays. The prices start from RM1000-RM3500 per semester for both accommodation type, furnished with basic amenities.
