About the university
ISAAC PITMAN, born in 1813 in England, studied for a teacher and worked in a public school where he subsequently became director. In 1837, he invented and published his phonography system, which was said, replacing the old shorthand system. The phonetic alphabet has a sign for every sound used in the language. Its advantages as a basic system of shorthand, consists in the accuracy, security and speed in its writing and transcription. When this College was founded , it takes the name of ISAAC PITMAN, since in its beginnings it only formed Secretaries, same in which in its Plan of Studies was included Pitman Shorthand.
