The Center of Advanced Studies of the East of Michoacán (CESOM), institution of university studies in the professional formation is located in the City of Maravatío one of the most important of the eastern region of the State of Michoacán. The municipality is located geographically within the quadrant that conform the 19º 47 'and the 19º 58' of latitude north, in relation to the 100º 12 'and 100º 36' of longitude west of the meridian of Greenwich and is to 2,000 meters above the level from sea; Limits to the north with the state of Guanajuato and the jurisdiction of the municipality of Epitacio Huerta; To the east with Tlalpujahua and Contepec; To the south with Irimbo, Senguio and Cd. Hidalgo and to the west with Zinapécuaro. The predominant climate is temperate with rains in the summer.
