About the university
Due to the need for professionals at the higher level, the career of Engineering in Forest Development was created in September 1979. In 1985, in order to respond to the demand for forestry activities in the country, the Forestry Engineering course was created, reinforcing the technological area of the curriculum. In 1986 the career acquired the approach of systems and arose the Forest Engineering in Systems of Production. At present and as a result of the administrative reorganization of the Ministry of Public Education, it changed its name to Technological Institute of El Salto and forms part of the General Directorate of Higher Technological Education. The Technological Institute of El Salto is an Institution that forms professionals with an entrepreneurial and leadership attitude, committed to the sustainable management of natural resources, capable of proposing to society alternative development.
