About the university
In 1975, the President of Mexico, Mr. Luis Echeverría Álvarez and the President of the United States of America, Mr. Gerald Ford, met in Nogales. At the end of the meeting, the President of the Republic made the official announcement that in the City of Nogales, Sonora; The studious youth would have a REGIONAL TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTE, as of September of the same year. The first of October of 1975 begins work which today is our maximum house of studies, under the name of Regional Technological Institute of Nogales, under the direction of the Engineer Rafael Navarro Escobar and with a population of 224 students and 20 professors, being imparted the specialties Of Technician in Electromechanical, Technician in Electronics and Bachelor in Business Administration. In the upper middle level they offered the initial specialties: Technical in Accounting, Technician Laboratorista Chemical and Technician in Electronics.
