About the university
In August 2003, the Government of the State of Tabasco, with the support of the Federal Government, started the creation of the Usumacinta Technological University, being the second Technological University in the State of Tabasco. The Ministry of Education of the State Government made the arrangements before the General Coordination of Technological Universities (CGUT) of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP). In order to have more elements to justify the creation of this institution, it was necessary to carry out a feasibility study that included the study of labor market, study of educational supply and demand, socioeconomic studies and educational expectations, which were carried out in the Region of The Rivers of the State of Tabasco. As a result of the labor market study and the proposals of careers, the specific needs of the companies of the region were detected, and with this it was opted to open the University Superior Technician careers in: Agroindustrial Processes , Biotechnology and Marketing.
