About the university
The University of La Salle Bajío was founded by Dr. Manuel de Jesús Álvarez Campos, Brother of the Christian Schools, a man of iron will and apostolic and visionary educator. His commitment to young people for education inspired him to expand the educational work of the Brothers to respond to the needs of Higher Education. Thus, as Director of the preparatory section of the Christopher Columbus College in Mexico City, he founded La Salle University (ULSA) in 1962. Brother Manuel served as Rector of the ULSA until 1968, when his superiors Transferred to Leon, Gto. To lead La Salle College in this city.
