University Villa Rica

The Autonomous University of Veracruz Villa Rica was born in response to the need to increase the educational offer in the State of Veracruz. The university began activities in 1972, obtaining admission to the UNAM to teach higher level studies at the Veracruz-Boca del Rio campus with a degree in administration, accounting and six months later, a degree in law. Years later the university expanded its educational offer with the incorporation of studies of superior level in psychology. In addition, the institution presents itself as the first private educational institution to offer postgraduate studies in the port of Veracruz with the master's degree in administration. It also opens the career of architecture, computing and systems and civil engineering. In 1996 the institution opens its doors with the inauguration of the Coatzacoalcos campus with three degrees: administration, accounting and law, all of them incorporated into the UNAM. Later, it would expand its academic offer with a bachelor's degree in education sciences, and information and business technologies. In 1997 the university is the first private institution to offer the degree in medical surgeon through the medical school "Dr. Porfirio Sosa Zárate". This major event was followed by the incorporation of higher education studies in communication sciences, as well as the degree in dental surgeon through the faculty of dentistry, which represented in 2004, becoming the only private institution in The State of Veracruz in offering such a degree.
